Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Depart for Jordan

Make your way to your local airport where you will board your overnight flight. Your meals will be served on board.

Day 2

Arrive in Amman

Upon arrival in Amman, make your way to the baggage claim area and collect your luggage. Proceed to the Arrival's Hall, where you will be greeted by your tour guide and/or driver. Transfer to the hotel in Amman for check-in and enjoy dinner at the hotel before retiring for the evening.

Day 3

Petra

This morning, you will transfer to the "lost" city of Petra! This city is located amongst rugged desert canyons and mountains. Enjoy a walking tour of the former capital and trading center. Your first stop will be a visit to the Siq, a mile-long gorge that contains a number of magnificent structures that are carved into the mountains. The walk will culminate with a visit to the Petra Museum, which holds numerous artifacts from the Neolithic period of the Nabataean history, architecture from the Romans, and a Byzantine chapel. Spend this afternoon at your own leisure. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Kerak – Madaba – Mt. Nebo

Today, after breakfast travel to the Castle of Kerak, the largest castle among mountain-top crusaders. Following this visit, transfer to the "City of Mosaics," Madaba. Visit St. George's Church, home to the oldest map of the Holy Land. Later, visit Mt. Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land before his death in the land of Moab (Deuteronomy 34). The Bible notes that the exact location of his burial place remains unknown. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Amman – Jerash – Tel Aviv

Following breakfast, depart for Jerash, one of the largest and most well-preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside of Italy. Its paved and colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples, handsome theaters, spacious public squares, baths, fountains, and city walls remain in exceptional condition. Later, cross the Jordanian border into the Holy Land and continue to Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Tel Aviv – Caesarea – Nazareth – Cana – Tiberias

Depart Tel Aviv to Caesarea Maritima, where St. Peter baptized the first gentile convert, Cornelius (Acts 10). Continue to Nazareth to visit the museum, archaeological garden, St. Joseph's Church, and the Church of the Annunciation — down to the Grotto of the Blessed Mother. Drive to Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle. Celebrate Mass at the Wedding Church; married couples may renew their wedding vows. Continue to the hotel by the Sea of Galilee.

Day 7Theme: The Ministry of Christ in the Galilee

Tiberias: Sea of Galilee

Take a boat ride on the beautiful Sea of Galilee (Luke 5:1). Visit Capernaum, the fishing town where Jesus lived and launched His ministry. See the Synagogue where Jesus taught and gave the Sermon on the Bread of Life. Continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, St. Peter's Primacy, and Mary Magdalene's birthplace in Magdala.

Day 8Theme: The Transfiguration

Mt. Tabor – Jericho – Jerusalem

Drive to the site of the Transfiguration, Mount Tabor (Matthew 17:1-8). Celebrate Mass at the Basilica of the Transfiguration. Continue south to Jericho, the world's oldest inhabited city, and view the Mount of Temptation where the Devil tempted Jesus during His forty-day fast (Luke 4:1). Drive up to Jerusalem to check in to your hotel.

Day 9Theme: The Visitation and Nativity

Jerusalem: Bethlehem & Ein Karem

Visit the Church of St John the Baptist in Ein Karem (Luke 1:5) and the Church of the Visitation. Drive to Bethlehem to visit the shepherds' fields, Manger Square, and the Church of the Nativity — proceeding down to the Grotto of the Nativity, which marks the place of Our Saviour's birth (Matthew 2:1-18). Celebrate Mass in Bethlehem, then return to Jerusalem.

Day 10Theme: Early Years in Jerusalem & the Wilderness

Jordan River – Qumran – Dead Sea

Drive through the Judean wilderness to the Jordan River for reflection on the Baptism of Christ (Matthew 3:13-17). Visit the Essene site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in Qumran (Ezekiel 47:8-10). Enjoy time to swim or float on the Dead Sea, the lowest and saltiest place on Earth.

Day 11Theme: Palm Sunday and the Agony in the Garden

Jerusalem: Mt. of Olives – Gethsemane – Mt. Zion

Visit the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Visit the Pater Noster Shrine, Dominus Flevit, Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations, the Western Wall, the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, and the Upper Room on Mt. Zion where Jesus celebrated the Last Supper (Matthew 26:17-30). Also visit the Benedictine Church of the Dormition.

Day 12Theme: The Way of the Cross, The Crucifixion, The Resurrection

Jerusalem: Via Dolorosa – Holy Sepulchre – Western Wall

Walk in prayerful procession along the Via Dolorosa, starting at the Antonia Fortress where Jesus was condemned to death. End at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, marking the place of the Crucifixion and Resurrection (Luke 23:26-33). Celebrate Mass, then revisit the Old City to see the Church of St. Anne's and the Pool of Bethesda. End the day at the Western Wall.
